2) The two video games I chose is super Mario bros, and cooking mama- these are different types of genres as one is adventure whereas one is totally different. The marketing adverts are different as cooking mama is specifically  targeted for young interactive girls, however mario bros is targeted for both genders.
As you can see the background is pink which some people may argue may appeal to girls more than men. Suggesting its targeted for young girls.
This shows a whole family in the advert playing t, suggesting that its targeted fr everyone, and anyone can play it.
It was marketed both through TV adverts and billboards, to attract consumers of the product.

3) Successful video-games that are available on the internet and tablets are things such as, angry birds, candy crush, temple run, they're promoted by pop up adverts and the word of mouth within social societies. They make money by the upgrades within the game. They also make money by charging to play or purchase the actual game. A mobile game is more successful as its easier time taken to download and its a portable game which you can play anywhere.

4) name: craze
 5 ways to promote it
- tv adverts
-pop up adverts
-billboards
-newspapers and magazines
-viral promotion eg social media

Poster Analysis

Paranormal Activity 3-
The genre of this film is ghost/thriller. The key conventions of this poster is the central image of two children sleeping with a vague outline of a ghost between the two this indicates that the movie will consist of a scary element. The tagline is 'discover how the activity began', this gives us a suspicious insight of what will happen. it doesn't give off too much information which keeps the poster more exciting and gives us tension. The colour scheme are bold and dark colours which contrast and indicates this movie will be scary. The use of red on a plain black background  indicates danger and blood

Saw 6-
The genre of this movie is horror. The central image is of a two gloves made to look like a hand, they seem to be very dirty. The colour schemes are dull to indicate it's a serious film.

Genre analysis

Genre: Action
This trailer consists of explosions, fights scenes, car chases, and there is a hero and a villain. We can see there's an element of love between the two characters. The target audience for this type of film would be above the age of 16+ as it has explicit scenes which may harm people. In addition to this I think this movie is more gender biased towards boys, however many females like to watch this too. In the story line Hobbs has Dom and Brian reassemble their crew in order to take down a mastermind who commands an organization of mercenary drivers across 12 countries.

Genre: Family

This trailer has a humorous element and the storyline is where a clown fish named Marlin lives in the Great Barrier Reef loses his son, Nemo. So the movie shows the struggles his dad goes through to find Nemo. The story is set in the sea, it also has a bit of a fantasy genre because of the concept of fishes talking. The character types are very funny, there is a mixture of different types of fishes which makes it more intriguing.

Genre:Thriller/ Drama

In the movie a seventeen year old teenager, Km gets kidnapped, and her father tries finding her. they go through many adventures on trying to keep her safe and alive. Kim is a very vulnerable teenager, and her dad is over protective of what she does, and who she meets. Therefore when she goes missing he is more than eager to find her. The iconography of this film is that we can see how trafficking is permitted throughout the world. This movie is set in Paris, in modern times so we see Mafia holders and illegal substances throughout the movie.

Analysis on advert

Language

The title of the game is named just dance, it doesn't have a particular logo. The background image of the front cover is very colourful and funky, it shows a silhouette of four characters dancing, the effect of having a colourful background is that it attracts costumers from both genders and most ages. It will be your first appeal in a supermarket if seen on the self, its eye catching, they also give a website on the advert which may be of interest to people who want to know more about the game, e.g prices and how to play.

Institution

The game was produced by Ubisoft and is available on multiple platforms. The original game was produced for Wii, a Nintendo brand. It was commercially successful as it sold over 3920000 copies world wide.

Audience

This particular game is designed for both genders, as it is targeted for families. Its influential on young kids as in the advert it shows how this game fills us with enjoyments and pleasure therefore the younger generation will have a quicker reflex towards having the urge to playing it. Its mainly targeted for families and friends as these groups are more likely to play it.

Representation

The game 'just dance' doesn't have a specific ethnicity it is aimed at, However the gender- i would argue- is slightly more towards females rather than males. Having said that many males do participate in the game but its just more of women's game. The media doesn't represent this game gender biased.

Camera shots

Long shot.
This shows how the character is alone on a regular day at school.
Over the shoulder shot.
This shows how he gets bullied.

This is a high angle shot, it shows the obstacles the characters faces on a normal school day, in this case hes 'getting in trouble' by a teacher.

Summer project

Super Mario Bros is a platform video game developed by Nintendo, published for the Family Computer/Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the first of the Super Mario series of games, releasing on September 13th, 1985. The player controls Mario and in a two-player game, a second player controls Mario's brother Luigi as he travels through the Mushroom Kingdom in order to rescue Princess Toadstool.
The game has been highly influential, popularizing the side-scrolling genre. In 2005 it was named as The Greatest Game Of All Time. The game also sold enormously well as they sold over 40million copies, and was the second-best-selling game of all time for three decades, until Wii Sports took that title. Mario became a worldwide game within years, played with the consoles Nintendo ds, dsi, wii.

The Platform ‘mario bros’ consist on are; Mobile phones, Family Computer Disk Systems, Wii, GameCubes, Game Boy Advance. The price range of this video game varies from £16.85 - £ 24.00.
The game Mario bros is marketed through the media as a worldwide game, through the internet they’re many online games to replicate the actual game creating more popularity. Market researchers have also put a ‘like’ page on Facebook which is an online social networking, reviews of the game and ratings are also given on there, this could be good or bad publicity however either way the game is gaining popularity. Unfortunately there is no sequel planned, the game consist of many levels however there is no new series of games introduced after the one.
The target audience is ‘3+’ as advertised on the game cover, this covers a big audience, the class in which who would mostly consist of middle class people. The gender is shared through both sexes however more males own wii consoles therefore the game is slightly male dominated. All ethnic groups are welcome to play this game, it isn’t bias towards any ethnicity so this also ranges within the popularity of the game in different ethnic countries.

Why I chose media?

I chose media studies because it looked intriguing, and I wanted to find out more. It was recommended by a student who did it last year, and from her opinion it sounded fun. I also thought that it would be good fun to work with my peers and to be able to interact with other students in higher years. In addition to this I wanted to learn how to use equipment such as cameras and videos so I can improve my skills which could help me in the future just over the course of one year.  After talking to my family member who chose media before they also said it would be a good learning experience compared to the other options I had to choose from, also if I need help I could always ask them for advice and I will continuously be supported by them. I hope my hard work pays off.
